I do, I've had mine stacked 4 high before, but I would recommend short boxes for easier storage and for moving them around. Long boxes are bulky, heavy, and don't easily store in a closet or shelf without the hazard of bowing the shelf, hanging off the edge, and or falling and throwing all your collected works all over the place. But hey, them's just my two cents.

Is it allright to stack long boxes one on top of the other? I have long boxes in my closet stacked three high... will this be okay over a long period of time?

Oh I only posted a few of the things they had in there and most were from the Hulk movie. I'm sure there are others linking them together. Heck the Captain America, Thor and Ironman films had lots of Easter gems in them as well. Off the top of my head there was the shield Tony used to prop up his laser device when creating the new element to power his chest piece. There was comments about Dr Banner from Jane Foster's mentor Dr Erik Selvig. Most of what we saw in Captain America didn't cross over very well as it all happened in the past, but Tony's father Howard Stark was there and helped him build a lot of his equipment and gave him the iconic round shield, and of course the Super Soldier project itself was in the S.S.R. (Strategic Scientific Reserve) that many of us comic book geeks know later became S.H.I.E.L.D. (Originally Supreme Headquarters, International Espionage, Law-Enforcement Division, but in the movies now it is the Strategic Homeland Intervention, Enforcement and Logistics Division) in our day and age. And the relation they made to Norse Mythology and the gods obviously related to Thor.but I'm sure there were other hidden things I didn't catch other than the end where they were in New York city our time and Shield was dealing with him too.

That's a pretty thoughtful post. I hadn't pieced together all the tying together they've been doing in all the previous movies.

I agree with you Fay...but the wife loves the 3D gimmick. I like it when it works, but like you said, it doesn't always.

Aye Freelyx, I was a sucker for the alternate covers and foil and such back in the early 90's but decided it wasn't worth it in the end.

It's another thing that has kept me wary of getting back into collecting on a regular basis.

It's funny you mention gimmicks. I was just thinking earlier today that that's what the movie industry is doing to us with 3D flicks. So many of these movies were not designed for 3D whatsoever - but many of us in the green room were wondering why everyone is putting them out so willy nilly. I found out the answer to that after we saw the price tags for the Green Lantern tickets.

They charge more for 3D flicks. So, since 3D is making a come back thanks to AVATAR most fantasy/sci fi is being post processed 3D, ready or not. It's a bit sad, really. If they spend as much time on the writing as they do on the flashy buck sucking gimmicks they'd have more hits!

I bought my first comic book when I was about 4 years old at the corner 7-11. I collected a lot of books in my years since then, but lost them all in a flood back in 1984.
I started collecting them again, on a less regular basis, but in all that time, before the flood and after, I only ever bought books I liked. I bought comic books for the stories and the characters. And yes, a lot of the time the covers would sell me. I collected mostly DC titles in my younger days and only found marvel when I was around 12 or so.

Living in a small town with no access to comic books other than what was available at the convenience stores, I was limited in my choices.

When I got older and found a comic book shop, I discovered the wide and wonderful world of the "Independent" comic; including Manga.
And those would become my main focus for collecting up to today.

However, I haven't bought nor collected any titles in so long I don't even know what to look for anymore. Nor do I know if the stories and heroes/characters of today's comic books hold any interest for me.

I have access to comic book stores now more than ever in my life but not much appeals to me these days, I'm sad to say. So the shift from collecting for fun and collecting for a possible profit seems to have slowly taken over.

That said, I have a few hundred comics from years gone by, but haven't checked to see if any are worth parting with.
